I just read your interview in Christian Parenting Today magazine. Wow! You really hit home on feelings about purity. Dannah, my teen years were exactly as you described yours to be. I feel so relieved knowing that other people understand what I was going through. Now, I am a 41 year old Christian wife and mother of 3 and I need all the help I can get knowing what to say to my kids about purity. I have 2 daughters and 1 son, life today is a challenge for them! My husband and I are prepared to be right behind them all the way. I am so grateful to God for special people like you to guide me through it! Our Mission It is the mission of Pure Freedom to equip men and women of all ages to live a vibrant life of purity, to experience healing from past impurity if it exists in their lives, and to experience a vibrant, passionate marriage which portrays the love Christ has for his Bride the church. (Ministry verse: Ephesians 5:31,32) Pure Freedom, founded by Bob and Dannah Gresh, provides resources with radically-unique approaches to focus on specific issues that teen girls and/or guys face in the area of purity and holiness. Our events, the hallmark of our ministry, are about sexual purity and yet they are much more about the totality of a life submitted to the will of God in a quest to enjoy the blessings of His plan. We believe that the temptation to fail sexually comes in different forms for girls and for boys. We also believe that they will one day enjoy God's gift of sex within the confines of marriage for different reasons. Whereas the girls are primarily emotionally driven, the guys are primarily driven by sight. Because of this dichotomy, it is vital that we educate them separately and emphasize different areas of temptation. The girls experience a slumber-party style pampering event with major girl-talk. Using a boxed gift kit of soaps, candles and tea cups, they'll explore the subjects of self-esteem, modesty, emotional healing, refusal skills and envisioning a godly husband. The guys experience a radical, high contact event which includes sports-themed teaching. They'll enjoy object lessons of a different type, such as maul ball. Believe it or not, it's a great way to teach them the power of accountability. They'll explore subjects such as masturbation, pornography, mental virginity, responsibility to protect a girl's emotions and envisioning a godly wife. All of our events feature small-group based teaching. Throughout the weekend, facilitated small-group interaction takes place. The goal is to open up the lines of communication for strong mentoring to follow through with the teaching of the weekend. Pure Freedom events can be experienced by coming to a scheduled event, contracting Pure Freedom to have Bob and/or Dannah facilitate an event in your community, or by planning your own event using our leader's guides.
